Just a very brief update tonight. At the moment life is consumed by elections, a frenzy of should selling and self promotion that will either destroy you or consume you. I’ve become rather blasé about the whole thing, focusing on getting students to vote in all elections based on the candidates manifestos, and asking them to vote for who they think will do the best job. In the meantime, a campaign video put together by some good friends has hit 1000 views on YouTube, which is simply astonishing…
Yet somehow, I can’t help but feeling that there’s more. At 10am tomorrow, I’ll be presenting a paper to the university executive, lobbying for increased funding for disability access something that Bangor just isn’t good enough at. I don’t know what the result is, but I’m hopeful of securing an extra half a million pounds of funding for this over the next three years, which would be a real victory for students and Bangor in general. This is why I do the job, this is why I love the job, and this is why I can’t wait to get back to work on Thursday, and to get back to working my socks of to change things for the better in Bangor.
Sleep well!
